Lina used the key to open the small door. Inside, she found a narrow room with an ancient map on the wall. The map showed a path from the tower to a bridge in the mountains. A red mark stood beside the bridge.

Lina looked at the snowy sky and remembered her grandfather's warning. She was afraid of leaving the village alone, but the bell rang again. This time, three quick sounds filled the tower. Lina picked up a lamp and the map. She had to follow the path before the coming storm covered it.
